Michaela Zach, IBCLC, RLC, LCCE


Michaela has been working in the maternal/child health field since 2002.  She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Lamaze certified childbirth educator (LCCE).  She has also worked as a birth doula, teen educator, AHA instructor and  lactation/childbirth educator faculty.  She has experience in hospital, non-profit, clinic and private practice. She is a past board member for the Central AZ Lactation Consultants Assoc.    

Educating and assisting new families through the most life changing event of their lives is her true calling and passion.  Michaela strives to make sure pregnant parents, lactating parents, and their partners have the most up to date evidence based information to ensure they are making informed decisions.  Much of Michaela’s work was inspired by her own challenging birth and postpartum experiences.  Helping families achieve their birth, postpartum and breastfeeding goals is her life's work.

Michaela founded Southwest Lactation Services in 2011 and offers a variety of services, including:

  • Private in office lactation consultation (prenatal and postnatal)
  • Lactation education and support 
  • ​Medical breast massage for breast inflammation, clogged ducts and mastitis

Michaela is married and has three children born in 1992, 1999 and 2006.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching hockey and football, the outdoors, and playing with her four dogs.
